Structural Abnormalities

Scoliosis is abnormal lateral (side-to-side) curves (greater than 10 degrees in either direction) in the spinal column. Scoliosis can be classified as either congenital (anomalies present from birth), idiopathic (unknown cause – this makes up a majority of the cases), or secondary (“functional” or “degenerative” caused from another condition or trauma). Scoliosis s twice as common in girls.
